Role Overview:
As a Habitat & Conservation Volunteer, you will play a vital role in protecting and restoring native habitats. You’ll assist with practical conservation tasks such as native plant propagation, seed collection, habitat restoration, and supporting predator management initiatives. Every contribution helps create thriving ecosystems and safeguard vulnerable wildlife.
Key Responsibilities:
Propagate and care for native plants in the nursery
Collect seeds and assist with planting and restoration projects
Support predator management and conservation programs
Maintain and assist with the care of habitats and grounds
Follow safety procedures and guidance from the Natives & Grounds Keeper
Requirements:
A genuine interest in conservation, sustainability, and wildlife
Good level of fitness and ability to work outdoors in variable weather
Comfortable performing physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and walking on uneven terrain
Able to listen carefully and follow instructions
Capable of working independently when required
Team player with a proactive, positive attitude
Reliable and able to commit to a minimum of 4 hours per week on a rostered schedule
